Compact, extremely effective electric tiller/cultivator with three-speed motor, serpentine tines, and optional attachments
The Mantis 7250-15-02 Tiller/Cultivator has all the features of the Mantis 7225-15-02, but uses clean, zero-emission electricity to power the three-speed motor. This motor is powerful enough to break through tough ground and the serpentine tines (which are also reversible) effectively dig down very deep even through sod or clay. For use during the summer and fall, the Mantis is ready with attachments like a kickstand and border-edger, and has the options for more accessories if you choose.
Three-speed electric motor
The Mantis’ electric motor has three speeds and boasts an impressive ¾ HP. To start, you just plug it in and push a button, and it’s ready to go. There’s no need for messy oil or gas, but you get a comparable amount of power for tough gardening jobs.
Serpentine, reversible tines
The serpentine tines (Mantis patented) have three speeds, with the highest being 240 RPM. These tines are reversible, which is a very unique feature, so you have more versatility. For width, it has 9 inches, which is ideal for smaller plots, but can go as deep as 10 inches.
When you choose the Mantis 7250-15-02, you get a border-edger accessory included. This allows you to more effectively work in very narrow spaces that even the Mantis without the accessory wouldn’t be able to do. You can also attach other accessories from the Mantis line to add to the tool’s functions.
Convenient handles and kickstand
The handles on the Mantis tiller are both comfortable and foldable for easier storage. It doesn’t come with wheels, but it does have a kickstand so you set it up when you aren’t using it and it won’t tip over. Not having wheels help keeps the tiller/cultivator lighter.
At only 21 pounds, this is one of the lightest tiller/cultivators combos you can get. It is extremely maneuverable and its compact design makes it perfect for small sheds and garages where space is limited.
One of the benefits of choosing electric over gas is that electric motors are much quieter. You can work in your garden early in the morning or the evenings without bothering any of your neighbors or needing ear protection.
Assembling the Mantis, especially the kickstand, is tricky. Plan on spending some time working with the Mantis when you first get it so every piece is where it should be and is secure.
This tiller/cultivator is pretty expensive. However, it does pack a lot of features into a very small package, and brings all the benefits of electricity including not having to buy any oil or gas. It can also be customized with accessories, so you can use it longer in the year.
The Mantis 7250-15-02 3-Speed Electric Tiller/Cultivator is very impressive for a such a small tiller/cultivator. It runs clean, but still has the power to break through very tough ground in small plots. Its tines are especially unique as they are reversible, and you can add attachments to the Mantis to expand its usage. This is a versatile, environmentally-friendly choice that doesn’t skimp on power, so it’s worth the extra cash you have to put down.
