Quiet, 4-stroke engine generator with lots of energy-saving features and rugged construction
The Westinghouse WH7500E portable generator has a lot of features to love. It’s quiet and has a 4-stroke OHV engine, which are known for their reliability and good fuel-efficiency. There are a lot of other energy-saving features as well, like automatic voltage regulation and high efficiency alternator laminations. Since generators have to endure outdoor weather, the construction on this unit is very durable and is able to harsh environments.
4-stroke, 420cc OHV engine
Equipped with a 4-stroke, 420cc OHV engine that holds 6.6 gallons, the generator is powerful and durable. It has both an electrical and manual start, and provides up to 9,000 starting watts and 7,500 running watts. This puts it in the middle in terms of most powerful generators; it may not be able to power an entire, larger house, but in an emergency, it’s more than capable of powering your most important devices and appliances for about 13 hours, when running at 50%.
Four standard outlets
The Westinghouse comes with standard household outlets, which include four 120-volts for standard household appliances. There’s also one 120/240-volt twist outlet and a quarter-turn Nema twist lock connection. All these connections are fully-enclosed for protection against debris.
To save on energy consumption, the WH7500E has two main features. The alternator laminations help make the most out of each electrical output while reducing the amount of fuel it takes to generate it. The automatic voltage regulation is great for devices that require more electricity, and ensures that no excess energy is lost during the connection.
Many generators are loud and can disturb a neighborhood. This generator has a Pulse-Flo muffler which provides great sound dampening so the generator runs quietly, even when it’s delivering a lot of energy.
Generators have to be outdoors, and they are at the mercy of storms and other weather. The Westinghouse is made entirely from steel and forged pistons and connection rods, so the generator is durable and long-lasting.
Incudes a full kit to start
You get everything you need to start up the generator (besides the gas) when you choose the Westinghouse. The kit includes wheels, a handle, oil, funnel, and a tool kit to put everything together.
The generator is pretty heavy. It’s around 200 pounds, though it does have wheels and a handle. These aren’t super reliable though, so be careful when you’re moving the generator around.
For all its power, the Westinghouse WH7500E Portable Generator is pretty affordable. You get 7500 running watts for 13 hours on a 6.6-tank of gas, and features designed to protect the outlets and keep all the energy where it should. The generator is pretty heavy, but it has a durable construction so you know it can survive harsh weather and still provide energy in the case of emergencies.
