Lightweight, stick/handheld vacuum with brushroll and wide cleaning path
The Eureka Quick-up 96H is a cordless 2-in-1 stick vacuum that includes a brushroll for carpets and a wide cleaning path so you can clean more in less time. Using the handheld option for this vacuum, you can clean above-floor areas and with the cordless convenience, you can easily clean anywhere you want, even rooms without outlets.
Converts into handheld vacuum
By removing the telescopic handle, your stick vacuum transforms into a lightweight handheld vacuum. This means more cleaning capability, like vacuuming on couch cushions, upholstery, windowsills, and countertops.
10-inch wide cleaning path
When vacuuming with the full stick vacuum and handheld, you get a 10-inch wide cleaning path. This means you get pick more with less passes, so your overall vacuum time is much shorter than with a narrower cleaning path. Having a wide cleaning path is ideal for when you’re in a hurry and need to do a quick vacuuming before people come over.
When you’re using the stick vacuum option, you will likely be vacuuming both smooth floors and carpeted areas. With the handy brushroll feature, you can transition easily between floor. Turn on the brushroll for carpets, and the bristles will work on the carpets to work out embedded dirt. When you move to smooth floors, turn off the brushroll and the bristles will retract so nothing gets scratched.
The main strength with the Eureka Quick-Up is how convenient it is. With no cord, you can take this vacuum anywhere, and even in its full stick form, it only weighs 4 pounds. Anyone can use this vacuum and going between the stick and handheld form is easy.
When it’s time to empty out the dirt cup, disposal is very easy. The filter is also washable and reusable, so it doesn’t need to replaced very often. Simple rinse out the filter to keep it in good shape and lasting a while.
Ideal for quick pick-ups
The Eureka 96H is powered by a 6-volt battery that gives you about 12 continuous minutes of vacuuming time when the brushroll is on. Because the vacuum is not intended for use as a primary vacuum that covers large areas, it’s ideal for those quick pick-ups. It’s extremely light and easy to just grab and start (no need to plug anything in).
Not good with large debris
One issue with the Eureka is that it isn’t very good at vacuuming up large debris, like dog kibble or cat litter. It works best when you use it for small debris, dust, and dirt. If you are dealing with larger pieces, either pick them up by hand or with a broom before making a pass with the stick vacuum.
Another weakness is that the battery is rather unpredictable. Depending on what you’re doing, you won’t necessarily get that 12 minutes. The life of the battery is inconsistent. It also starts to lose its ability to hold a charge the longer you own it. Keep an eye on how the battery and charging station are doing. If it starts to fail not long after you bought it, contact the company and see if you’re entitled to a new battery. Or, you could also buy another battery and alternate to give each battery a rest.
The Eureka Quick-Up 96H cordless 2-in-1 is a good, affordable basic stick vacuum with the convenience of a handheld option. It also has a brushroll so it works well on carpets to get all the dirt worked out. It’s ideal use is as a quick vacuum for smaller debris.
