Huge, efficient electric washer/dryer combo with RollerJets and 14 wash cycles
With over 4 cubic-feet, the LG WM3997HWA is one of the largest washer/dryer combos you can get. It has 14 wash cycles including one just for allergens, and special RollerJets that clean dirty clothes effectively and carefully. The unit is also equipped with features that enhance the machine’s energy-efficiency.
Direct-drive motor washes 4.3 cubic-feet capacity
The unit is powered by a direct-drive motor and doesn’t use belts, so the drum spins at a fast and powerful 1300 RPM. The LG holds up to 4.3 cubic-feet of clothes, so it’s very important that the motor and drum be especially durable.
RollerJets and Forced Water circulation
All the clothes are washed in the machine using RollerJets and Forced Water circulation. The RollerJets help aggravate the dirt and grime out of the clothes while the water sprinkles down, all without causing fraying or other wear common when clothes get washed.
14 wash cycles
With 14 wash cycles, any type of garment can be put into the combo. The settings include cotton/normal, permanent press, delicates, and hand wash/wool. There’s also a special allergen cycle, which will be discussed in the “Strengths” section.
Special cycle for allergens
Clothes can be home to lots of nasty allergens like dust mites and pet dander, so it’s important that your washer is able to thoroughly clean and sanitize. The Allergiene wash cycle is especially powerful and uses very hot water.
Works in a variety of spaces
You can use the LG WM3997HWA everywhere, even in places that don’t allow vented dryers. As a ventless unit, you don’t need to force any hot air outside, so you can set up the combo unit basically anywhere you have an outlet.
The unit doesn’t waste any water or energy. With the SenseClean monitor, both the wash time and water amount are based on how big of a load is in the unit. It never uses too much water, only what’s needed, so it’s very energy-efficient.
The LG WM3997HWA is very heavy compared to other combos. It weighs about 211 pounds. This is to be expected with bigger-capacity units, so it would be best to plan on choosing a spot for the unit and not moving it.
Drying takes a long time
As with most washer/dryer combinations, the dryer function takes a lot of time. If you have a lot of bulky items to dry, you could be waiting 3+ hours for them to get really dry. To reduce this time, try putting in smaller loads.
This washer/dryer is ideal for larger families who need those big-capacity drums. The unit cleans thoroughly and is able to get rid of dust mites and other allergens with the RollerJets, Allergiene cycle, and other 14 washing programs. Though it’s a bit bigger and heavier than other combo units, the LG WM3997HWA Washer/Dryer Combo is still small enough for apartments and condos.
